RESNeS in collaboration with the e-Skills provincial hubs is proud to organise the Creative Industries in the Knowledge Economy Workshop:

The purpose of the workshop is to develop curricula and skills capacity for the Creative Industries with an emphasis on the role of ICT and mobile apps development. There are plans underway to make this workshop a webinar as well so those who cannot attend will participate. Stakeholders who will benefit from this visit include:
• Education sector: All Universities, FET colleges offering multimedia, and tertiary institutions.
• Government: Department of Arts and Culture, Department of Higher Education and Training, Department of Communications
• Industry: Creative Industry companies
• Technology: Telkom, Vodacom, MTN, BlackBerry, Apple, Android, Microsoft, Broadcasters...
On 27 October the Workshop 2012 will host a postgraduate colloquium where upcoming researchers will have the opportunity to meet international researchers and practitioners to share insights from practical cases around the world especially Australia. The hope is to create collaborative spaces and advance research in the field of Creative Industries, Entrepreneurship and Mobile Apps Development. The Post-graduate Research Colloquium on Creative Industries and Entrepreneurship in the Knowledge Economy will particularly grow the future capacity for the role of ICT in the Creative Industries as a area of focus in South Africa.
